A visible hyperlink between indie-rock as well as the emergent post-rock afterwards within the ’90s, Salaryman formed around a quartet of ex-Poster Kids: Rick and Jim Valentin, Rose Marschack and drummer Howie Kantoff. Located in the Midwestern college-town stronghold of Champaign, Illinois, the group started documenting for an record in 1996. Following its release independently 12Inch Records, Town Slang selected it up for the European discharge. Salaryman toured the continent with Tortoise and Mouse on Mars, after that released the remix EP Voids+Superclusters.
