It had been during this time period that Tjeknavorian finished the first edition of his opera Rostam and Sohrab, a function that in its last version will be premiered in Iran in 2000 with great achievement. Tjeknavorian studied performing in 1965 in the University or college of Michigan, and he became a member of the faculty at Moorhead University or college, chairing the instrumental and opera departments. In 1970 he came back to Iran as composer-in-residence and primary conductor of Teheran’s Rudaki Opera Home. Tjeknavorian relocated to Britain in 1975, where he authorized a recording agreement with RCA. More than the next 10 years roughly he proved several effective recordings with London’s leading orchestras (LSO, LPO, and RPO). After a short residency in NY (1986-1988), Tjeknavorian approved the visit of primary conductor and creative director from the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra in 1989. He remaining this post in 2000 to spotlight structure and freelance like a conductor. In the first years of the brand new hundred years Tjeknavorian remained energetic like a composer and conductor, leading many concerts in Teheran and Yerevan, aswell as with LA, Beirut, and Vienna.
