Mike Stevens

In the mid- and later ’60s, this British artist is at the documenting studios regularly, usually backed with the Welsh group the Shevells. Although the annals of their cooperation is certainly nowhere near as tough to check out as the Welsh vocabulary, a degree of confusion was made by the actual fact the fact that group sometimes documented under just its name, offering Stevens on electric guitar and vocals; occasionally under its name without Stevens; and occasionally provided itself logically as Mike Stevens & the Shevells. Credited the last mentioned method, the performers documented a cover edition of “Cathy’s Clown” using the terribly derailed “Go-Go Teach” in the flipside for Pye in 1966, after that waited many years before provided another opportunity by Polydor.
