The Mirrors

Not to end up being recognised incorrectly as the Cleveland proto-punk/new influx outfit from the same name, the psych-rock Mirrors from Little league Town, TX, were the first music group of Greg Ashley, who later on recorded similarly trippy music by himself and as the first choice from the Gris Gris. Vocalist/guitarist Ashley created the band along with his high-school buddies, guitarist Alan Harrison, bassist Tre Turner, drummer Tom Lee, and keyboardist Chad Robinson in 2000, when the additional garage-punk bands these were playing in disbanded. As the Mirrors, the quintet melded their garage-punk origins using the deeper psych affects of the Electric powered Prunes, Syd Barrett, as well as the 13th Ground Elevators. While playing regional gigs, the music group documented its debut recording, A Green Desire, that was released by POPQuiz in 2001 on vinyl fabric only; the next year, 13 Individual Flowers showed up on Fleece Information. Ashley began focusing on single materials while still in the Mirrors, even though the band is at Oakland, CA, on tour, he discovered a kindred soul and collaborator in Oscar Michel, bassist for San Francisco’s Rock and roll & Roll Experience Children. Though Ashley’s single work as well as the Gris Gris efficiently spelled the finish for the Mirrors, the band’s swan music found its way to 2004 using the release from the Medicine #1 solitary on Birdman Information, that was also the house of Ashley’s later on produces. The label offered A Green Desire its first Compact disc launch early in 2005.
