RFD Boys

The RFD Children — Charlie Roehrig (lead vocals, guitar), Paul Shapiro (bass, vocals), Dick Dieterle (fiddle, vocals), and Willard Spencer (banjo, dobro, vocals) — formed in 1969 on the School of Michigan in Ann Arbor. (The “RFD” means “Rural Free of charge Delivery,” that is how farmers utilized to get their email.) There, they performed concerts 3 or 4 nights weekly on the now-defunct Pretzel Bell; this concentrate on their music allow them compose, compose, and generate three albums and play several national bluegrass celebrations (in addition to be featured over the cover of Bluegrass Unlimited newspaper).
