Guitarist Joe Harris and mandolin participant Kid West, a set of Louisiana music artists most widely known for several 11 paths (including two needs from the elegant “Railroad Rag”) they recorded on Oct 9, 1940, in Shreveport, LA, for the Collection of Congress Folk Archives task, had an uncommon and liquid audio that straddled the range between blues, string music group dance music, and rags. Their solid musicianship is certainly everywhere evident in the paths for the Library of Congress, aswell as on the sooner string band edges they lower with Oscar “Pal” Woods beneath the name the Wampus Felines in 1937. Sadly, Harris and Western world vanish from the general public record following the 1940 periods, although it is certainly assumed they both continued to be in the Shreveport region.
