Renée Orin

Given birth to Renée Orin in Slatington, PA, she was raised the youngest of five kids. Elevated by her mom and a dad who owned a little scrap iron business, she was raised inside a musical house. Her old sister Ruth performed the piano and sang while her additional sisters Naomi and Dotty had been singers. As a teenager, Renée begged her parents to allow her take performing lessons. Her music instructor recommended that she use an acting trainer in NY, Claudia Frank. Determined to maintain present business, Orin endured the two-and-a-half-hour teach rides to NY. By using Frank’s training, she auditioned and was recognized into Carnegie Technology (now referred to as Carnegie Mellon.) She continued to play summertime share at Cleveland, OH’s Cain Recreation area Theater each summertime in the later ’40s. In 1948, the celebrity fulfilled composer/pianist Albert Hague. Over time of being close friends and supporters of every other’s careers, these were wedded around 1951. She made an appearance in over 400 shows of Hague’s initial Brodaway musical Ordinary and Luxury. One song in the show, “Youthful and Foolish,'” became a typical, documented by Eddie Fisher, Tony Bennett, Cedar Walton, as well as the McGuire Sisters, amongst others. Her hubby afterwards was a Tony Award champion and made an appearance as Teacher Shorofsky in both movie and Television versions of Popularity.
