The Hi-Fi’s were a London-based band that tried for just two years to use of clubs with some recording success, cutting sides for Piccadilly and Pye, including a catchy singalong called “DO YOU WANT TO or Won’t You,” which were able to be salacious and innocent at exactly the same time, and the more vigorous “She’s the main one,” and in addition did well by Leiber & Stoller’s “I Keep Forgettin’.” It had been all to no avail as the group proceeded to go hitless into 1966, lowered using their third label in as much years, and going for the more profitable environs of Hamburg, Germany, where British bands had been still treated as unique. Their singles lower in Germany failed, however they still surely got to record a whole LP.
