Religious Knives

Religious Kitchen knives combine noise drones with humming guitar, organs, drums, bass, and dueling vocal harmonies to create an eerie mixture of reverberated psychedelia that references wintry (often chillingly cool) sounds from the ’60s. The Velvet Underground, Goblin, and Popol Vuh certainly are a several band’s influences, and therefore, plus a like for horror music and psychedelic trip-outs, Krautrock fuels the open fire, making for a few extended jams of extended monotony. Originally, Spiritual Knives started like a two-piece part project of couple Mike Bernstein and Maya Miller from the improvisational music group Two times Leopards. The duo made a decision to branch out to go after music in a fresh incarnation, and after adding Nate Nelson from Mouthus on drums they began to realize the brand new band’s potential. Bernstein and Miller drawn out of Two times Leopards and roped inside a bass participant, following a few auditions. After experimenting, ultimately the music group found a secure haven in Brooklyn’s No Fun Information, as well as the group’s 1st full-length, Resin, premiered from the label in Apr of 2008.
