Poulain was the task of vocalist/guitarist Isaac Lekach, a Miami-based songwriter who’d previously used the twee pop group Friend Program. In 2002, he debuted the wispy indie pop audio of Poulain over the EP With Fingertips Crossed (Soft Place), and implemented that to push out a calendar year later using the For People EP (Fiddler). For People was even more of the same acoustic-based, chiming twee, and highlighted the angelic helping vocals of Seevenus’ Rocky Ordoñez. While fundamentally the one-man music group of Lekach, he do come up with a touring combo of bassist Colt Maloney, guitarist/pianist Oliver Chapoy, and drummer Todd Wiesenbaker.
