Nous Non Plus

Mixing whimsical indie pop having a hearty dose of Francophilia, Nous Non Plus shaped in 2005 from your ashes of Les Sans Culottes, another faux-French strap from NEW YORK. Bandmates Cécollection Dijon (vocals), Jean-Luc Retard (bass, vocals), Bonnie Day time (vocals, violin), Cal d’Hommage (acoustic guitar), Professeur Harry Covert (drums), Morris “Mars” Chevrolet (synthesizer), and François Hardonne (key pad, trumpet) experienced all played collectively in Les Sans Culottes, which also presented the skills of bandleader Clermont Ferrand. The music artists staged a coup d’état in 2005, ousting Ferrand in the band and wanting to wthhold the Les Sans Culottes moniker without him. Ferrand responded by firmly taking his previous bandmates to courtroom. Having no cash to contend with Ferrand (a previous lawyer who symbolized himself in the event), they trim their loss and adopted a fresh name, Nous Non Plus. Just like the group that spawned them, Nous Non Plus started playing French pop regardless of the band’s chose insufficient French ancestry. Their eponymous debut became a high 10 hit in the CMJ graphs in 2005, as the follow-up work Ménagerie up to date the band’s classic, ’60s-designed songwriting with Moog synthesizers and distorted guitars.
