Niney the Observer

Manufacturer Niney the Observer was among the principle architects behind the basic reggae audio of the first 1970s. Delivered Winston Holness in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 1951, he obtained the Niney moniker when he dropped a thumb within a workshop mishap; he moved into the music sector during the later ’60s being a protégé of manufacturer Bunny Lee, afterwards dealing with Lee “Damage” Perry. Upon building his very own Observer label, Niney’s initial strike was the 1970 Dennis Alcapone one “Mr. Dark brown”; afterwards that season he unleashed the seminal “Bloodstream and Fireplace,” which marketed some 30,000 copies in Jamaica by itself while forever getting the enmity of Bob Marley, to whose “Duppy Conqueror” the record bore greater than a transferring resemblance.
