Nicolas Masson

Swiss saxophonist Nicolas Masson is normally a forward-thinking jazz musician using a bent toward contemporary creative improvisation. Blessed in Geneva, Switzerland, Masson examined music on the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève. After graduating in 2000, Masson examined privately for the year in NEW YORK with such performers as Chris Potter and Full Perry. In 2002, Masson released his debut record, Awake, over the Altrisuoni label. Masson ultimately moved back again to European countries and in 2006 released his sophomore solo record, Yellow (JUST A LITTLE Orange), on the new Sound/New Talent label. In ’09 2009, Masson and his music group Parallel released their debut record, Thirty Six Spirits. Two years afterwards, he came back to Clean Sound/New Talent for his single record, Departures. In 2013, Masson made an appearance along with his trio Third Reel on the self-titled ECM debut.
