Neilson Hubbard

Mississippi-based singer/songwriter Neilson Hubbard got his begin in a Galaxie 500 cover band, but what’s interesting is usually that had not been until his second single album (following a youthful stint fronting the mid-period Feelies-like artsy college rockers This Living Hand, the group that cover band had transmuted into) that Hubbard’s personal music showed any kind of religious or musical link with the progenitors of slowcore. From then on Nashville-based group split in 1996, Hubbard came back to his indigenous Jackson, MS, and released his 1st solo recording, 1997’s The Slide Task. A Kinks-y stream of indie acoustic guitar pop, The Slip Task sounded like nothing at all Hubbard had carried out before, and it became an aberration. After putting your signature on with Parasol Information, Hubbard released the heartbreakingly unfortunate, musically translucent Why Males Fail in Apr 2001. He adopted this record up in 2003 using the launch of Sing Into Me, also for Parasol
