Lyle “Spud” Murphy

Composer and arranger Lyle “Spud” Murphy was most widely known for developing his pioneering 12-firmness Equal Interval Program, developed to liberate composers from your constraints of classical forms and strategies. Given birth to in Berlin on August 19, 1908, and elevated from age four in Sodium Lake Town, UT, Murphy was something of a kid prodigy, understanding in succession the trumpet, all people from the saxophone family members, and finally the rest of the woodwinds. He started his professional profession at 16, and in 1933 relocated to NEW YORK, learning to be a sought-after arranger.
