Lamps

The Lights’ cantankerous, chaotic L.A. garage area punk may be the brainchild of vocalist/guitarist Monty Buckles, drummer Josh Erkman, and bassist Tim Ford. Buckles, who’s also a filmmaker and provides directed movies for End up being Your Own Family pet, the Cleverness, A-Frames, and Dark Lip area, was loosely associated with the LA underground music picture prior to starting the music group with Erkman. The duo got so far as practice periods at Buckles’ house and petered out; afterwards, they reunited and added Ford towards the fray. Being a trio, the Lights recorded one demonstration on the cassette participant and another on Ford’s eight-track recorder, after that played a present at a friend’s party that resulted in a gig helping the Orphans and American Loss of life Ray at L.A.’s underground place Juvee. At a present using the Deadly Snakes, the Lights caught the interest of In the Red’s Larry Hardy, who agreed upon the music group. Their self-titled debut EP, which highlighted Piranhas guitarist Nai Sammon on the few tracks, found its way to 2005; their initial full-length, also entitled The Lights, premiered in 2007 and boasted a far more expansive, but nonetheless cranky and abrasive, appear.
