Using their traditional two-part vocal harmonies and electrifying fiddling set to a robust rhythm section, Kalesijski Zvuci has taken the excitement of dance music to war-ravaged Bosnia. The group, which features Hasan Pozegic (vocals), Ramo Salkic (violin, sargija, vocals), Hazim Djedovic (guitar, violin), Senad Mesic (drums), Jusuf Osmanovic (accordion), Mimo Hajric (electrical bass) and Neno Jelec (electrical bass), released an recording, Bosnian Break down: The Unpronounceable Defeat of Sarajevo, in 1992, In an assessment of the recording, Rock’N’Reel had written, “Instantly popular with my tempo bone, and, concurrently, setting the feet right into a frantic tapping condition.”
