Joel de Almeida recorded his 1st sambas in the Casa Edison in Rio de Janeiro in 1932. Within the next 12 months, he created with Gaúcho the extremely effective duo Joel e Gaúcho, which experienced its best stage until 1947. In 1946, he documented a solo recording using the sambas “Promessa” (Jaime de Carvalho) and “Trabalhar European union Não” (Aníbal de Almeida).
