Led by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Josh Dooley, Map can be an indie rock-band from the Velvet Blue Music label. Founded in Riverside, CA, pretty much as a single task for Dooley, Map produced its documenting debut in 2000 using the Teaching Turtles to Soar EP for the California-based 3rd party label Velvet Blue Music. Another EP, Eastern Skies, Traditional western Eyes (2001), implemented quickly thereafter. Map produced its full-length record debut in 2003 with Secrets with the Highway. The follow-up record, Think As an Owner (2004), was even more of an organization effort, offering the associated musicianship of Loop (bass), Heather Bray (electric guitar, vocals), and Ben Heywood (drums). The full-band strategy continued around the successive Map launch, the six-track SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA in the 90’s EP, which features the associated musicianship of Paul Akers (keyboards) and Trevor Monks (drums).
