Jocelyne Béroard

As business lead singer for the 15-piece Martinique-based music group Kassav’ since 1984, Jocelyn Beroard helped to place the foundations of zouk, a favorite dance mixture of Antillean, Zairean, and Western european influences. Alongside the group, Beroard became a member of with Youssou N’Dour, Peter Gabriel, and Tracy Chapman in 1998 for a global tour in special event from the 50th wedding anniversary of the Common Declaration of Human being Rights. Their efficiency in Paris on Dec 12, 1998, was documented and included on a multi-artist video and Dvd and blu-ray, Paris Concert for Amnesty International: The Struggle Continues, released in 1999.
