Being a founding person in the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmie Vaughan was among the leading Austin, Tx guitarists from the later ’70s and ’80s, in charge of opening the country wide marketplace up for gritty roadhouse blues and R&B. Inspired by guitarists like Freddie Ruler, B.B. Ruler, and Albert Ruler, Vaughan developed a hardcore, low fat sound that became one of the most recognizable noises of ’70s and ’80s blues and blues-rock.
