Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter

Formed in the ashes of two influential alternative country rings, Whiskeytown and Hominy, the duo of lead singer/guitarist Jesse Sykes and guitarist Phil Wandscher fulfilled in 1999 in Seattle’s Hattie Hat club. Sykes had simply ended a romantic relationship with Jim Sykes (her musical partner within the music group Hominy) and acquired slowed her songwriting down, but a fresh seed sprouted when she fulfilled Wandscher. The set began performing being a duo and received very much praise, developing a gradual hype. The group ultimately added drummer Kevin Warner, bassist Costs Herzog, and violinist Anne Marie Ruljancich. After getting into the studio room they documented their debut discharge, Reckless Burning, that was released beneath the name Jesse Sykes & the Special Hereafter by Barsuk Information in Apr 2002.
