Jean Martin

Jazz drummer Jean Martin continues to be dynamic in Toronto’s music picture through the entire ’90s. As an associate of Chelsea Bridge, he documented several albums for the Unity label; he in addition has caused D.D. Jackson, and will be heard in the pianist’s 1996 trio time, Rhythm-Dance. Martin examined under Adam Nussbaum in N.Con.C., is a highlighted soloist in the Country wide Arts Center Orchestra, and provides performed in France and around THE UNITED STATES with several acclaimed jazz music artists, including Jackson, David Murray, Roddy Ellias, and vocalist Kate Hammet-Vaughn. He performs on over 15 recordings led by others, and started leading his very own groupings in the past due ’90s, like the Bitches Brew Task and a trio with trumpeter Kevin Turcotte and guitarist Justin Haynes. The Jean Martin Trio’s debut documenting, Get Together Weather conditions, arrived in 1999 and was accompanied by a Canadian tour that included celebration appearances on the duMaurier Jazz Celebration and more.
