Jean “Binta” Breeze

Jean “Binta” Air flow is a performance poet, playwright, actress, dancer and choreographer. Her books consist of Riddym Ravings, released in 1988 by Competition Today; Spring Washing, released in 1992 by Virago; and On the Advantage of the Isle, released in 1996 by Bloodaxe. An record, Monitors, released in 1990 and made by Linton Kwesi Johnson, mixed unaccompanied readings and parts documented with accompaniment with the Dennis Bovell Dub Music group, led with the Matumbi founding member. Air flow attracted her first attention being a dub poet soon after coming to Britain for the very first time in the first ’80s. Within the years since, she’s divided her period shuttling between her homeland in Jamaica as well as the U.K.
