James William “Jim Billy” Morris

The daddy of saxman/Unity leader Byron Morris, the later Adam William “Jim Billy” Morris was an alto and tenor saxophonist, arranger and composer who was simply active in Roanoke, VA for a lot of his lifestyle. Morris was a adult when he still left Roanoke for Philadelphia, where he resided in the first to middle-1940s and performed swing through the Globe Battle II years. Following the Battle, Morris came back to Roanoke, and in 1947, he founded the Aristocrats Orchestra, a huge band such as Duke Ellington and Count number Basie. Although small known nationally, the Aristocrats had been a popular local attraction that loved a pursuing in Virginia, Western Virginia and NEW YORK from the past due 1940s until their separation in 1960. Morris was ten times from his 69th birthday when he passed away on Feb. 8, 1985.
