James Wheeler

Blues guitarist Wayne Wheeler was created in Albany, GA, on August 28, 1937. His first musical influences had been the big rings of that time period, specifically Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and his 1st idol, Louis Jordan. Pursuing his older sibling Golden, Wheeler relocated to Chicago in 1956. Golden experienced began playing harmonica within the night clubs, becoming friends numerous blues music artists, including Small Walter. It had been after the proceed to Chicago that Wayne Wheeler found your guitar and began jamming with regional musicians. Wheeler’s 1st big break arrived when he performed guitar with Billy Son Arnold, which result in the forming of the Jaguars in 1963, burning B.B. Ruler, Millie Jackson, O.V. Wright, and Otis Clay. Clay was therefore impressed with Wheeler’s playing that following the Jaguars split up in 1972 he asked Wheeler to construct his touring music group, which lasted 3 years. Following a short tour using the Impressions, Wheeler required a nonmusic day time job, picking right up weekend gigs occasionally for another 10 years. In 1986, Wheeler received a contact from Otis Hurry asking him to try out a weekend gig that changed full-time, long lasting until 1993. After documenting and touring stints with Mississippi High temperature, Magic Slim, and Willie Kent, he released his very much anticipated solo documenting, Prepared, in 1998 on Delmark Information. Featuring ten primary monitors plus three addresses, his music group featured sibling Big Golden Wheeler on harmonica and pianist Ken Saydak. Carrying out a chaotic tour timetable through European countries and SOUTH USA, Wheeler’s second discharge, Can’t Consider It, implemented in 2000, once again, in the Delmark label. Can’t Consider It spotlights all primary compositions by Wheeler, fronting exactly the same music group, apart from Ron Sorin changing Big Golden on harp.
