Ike Isaacs

Ike Isaacs (zero regards to the United kingdom guitarist from the same name) was an excellent supportive bassist best-remembered for his association with Lambert, Hendricks & Ross. He began playing trumpet and tuba before switching completely to bass. Over time in the Military (where he had taken lessons from Wendell Marshall), Isaacs acquired stints with Tiny Grimes (1948-1950), Earl Bostic (1951-1953), Paul Quinichette (1953), and Benny Green (1954). He led his personal music group in his indigenous condition of Ohio during portion of 1956, wedded Carmen McRae, and for just two years was portion of her trio. Next, Isaacs led the trio that supported Lambert, Hendricks & Ross.
