Hollow Corp hail in the northeastern French city of Colmar, and were founded in 2005 by vocalist Stephane Azam, guitarists Mathieu Roszak and Guillaume Schleret, bassist Romain Fiorot, and drummer Laurent Michalak. Acquiring inspiration from rings as different as Mastodon, Meshuggah, and France’s very own Gojira, the quintet released its 2007 debut record, Cloister of Radiance, through regional independent Dental Information, but enthusiastic testimonials soon led to an internationally reissue by Prosthetic Information one year afterwards.
