Herman Düne

Channeling a continuum of affects spanning from Neil Young to Sonic Youth to Pavement, People from france anti-folk group Herman Düne gained a global cult pursuing that included the influential BBC radio personality John Peel off. Featuring sibling performers/guitarists André and David-Ivar Herman Düne and drummer Omé, the group released some self-released cassettes and CD-Rs and toured the U.S. and European countries before releasing its initial “formal” LP, SWITCH OFF the Light, in the Prohibited label in middle-2000. That Sept, Peel expanded an invitation to lower a BBC radio program, and was therefore impressed that he summoned the trio to his house for a live Xmas broadcast. Upon relocating to Paris, Herman Düne documented 2001’s EACH GOES towards the Woods for the observed Amerindie label Shrimper. Omé exited the lineup immediately after, with brand-new drummer Néguy Herman Dune, they resurfaced afterwards that season with another full-length, Switzerland Traditions. Following a 2002 divide discharge with U.S. emo clothing Cerberus Shoal, The Whys as well as the Hows of Herman Düne & Cerberus Shoal, the trio supported Canadian vocalist/songwriter Julie Doiron on the France tour. Two brand-new LPs, the Monitor & Field discharge Mas Cambios as well as the Shrimper discharge Mash Concrete Steel Mushrooms, implemented in 2003. Following a group of self-released single initiatives, André and David-Ivar reconvened Herman Düne for 2005’s Not really at the top, which highlighted Doiron on bass and vocals. Their Supply Etc. label debut, Large, hit shops in 2006; later that season, André Herman Dune departed the music group and pursued a single profession as Stanley Brinks. Today a duo, Herman Dune taken out the umlaut from its name for the 2008 record Next Season in Zion. After going for a break and beginning their very own record label, Herman Dune came back in 2011 with an record called after their label, Unusual Moosic. The label also released the band’s music for the film Mariage á Mendoza in 2013. For this period, David-Ivar began focusing on his single project, Dark Yaya.
