Hell Is for Heroes

This UK post hardcore rock-band was formed in London, England, in 2000 by Will McGonagle (guitar) and Joe Birch (drums) following a dissolution of the former band, the heavily hyped but under performing Symposium. Joined up with by Justin Schlosberg (vocals), Tom O’Donohue (acoustic guitar), and Wayne Finlay (bass), the quintet got their name from a 1962 battle film starring Steve McQueen. They released the limited release dual a-side ‘Ill/Content’/‘Cut Down’ through Excellent Quality Recordings in June 2001, and soon afterwards signed a significant label documenting agreement with Chrysalis Information. The quintet decamped to LA to record their debut record, which had taken its uncommon moniker from a expression coined by Birch to spell it out the town’s shallow lifestyle. The release from the record was delayed for many months, where period fellow UK rock and roll revivalists Hundred Factors had stolen a few of Hell IS PERFECT FOR Heroes thunder using the discharge of their very own extremely acclaimed debut record. Even so, The Neon Handshake received uniformly exceptional reviews when it had been finally released in Feb 2003. The video for the one ‘You Drove Me To It’ was the initial ever promo to include ‘crimson dot’ digital interactive tv technology. Creative distinctions with Chrysalis prompted the music group’s departure in the main label in 2004. They forged forward with the documenting of a fresh record, Transmit Disrupt, released the next calendar year on Scholsberg’s Captains Of Sector label.
