Heavy Metal Army

Among the lesser lamps of japan hard rock trend of the first 80s, ROCK Military comprised John Patterson (vocals), Yuki Nakajima (keyboards), Shinki Sugama (acoustic guitar), Masahiko Takeuchi (bass) and Eiichi Miyanaga (drums). Offering several established titles in Japanese rock and roll, Heavy Metal Military were initially seen as a ‘supergroup’. Patterson previously sang with Mariner, while Sugama performed acoustic guitar with Condition Green. Nakajima was ex-Carmen Maki, Takeuchi ex-Creation and Miyanaga ex-Murasaki. Their 1981 debut recording for Nexus Information certainly emphasized their position as rock and roll journeymen, the seasoned performers indulging their specific contributions towards the deficit of collaborative songwriting. The group splintered soon after the record’s launch, with each member carrying on to utilize other rings on japan scene.
