Groove Collective

The acid jazz clothing Groove Collective was formed in downtown NEW YORK in 1990 by flutist Richard Well worth, DJ Smash, and rapper Nappy G, all three staples of the nomadic dance golf club called Giant Stage. With time, the trio was became a member of by keyboardist Itaal Shur, drummer Gengi Siraisi, and bassist Jonathan Maron, generating an evergrowing cult following and finally attracting the eye of Steely Dan vibist Expenses Ware, who quickly signed on alongside saxophonist Jay Rodriguez, trombonist Josh Roseman, trumpeter Fabio Morgera, and percussionist Chris Theberge. Groove Collective’s self-titled debut LP made an appearance on Reprise in 1993, adopted three years later on from the GRP label launch We individuals. The group resurfaced in 1998 with Dance from the Drunken Grasp. It’s All in your thoughts was released in 2001 with People People Music Music pursuing in 2006.
