Göran Söllscher

Although both tend to be mentioned in one breath, the temperament, style, as well as career information on Swedish classical guitarist Göran Söllscher and the ones from the controversial and famous Japanese guitar virtuoso Kazuhito Yamashita are actually nearly as different as you could imagine. Yamashita was thrust in to the limelight while still an adolescent; Söllscher, alternatively, continuing his conservatory research until his mid-twenties and required his time accumulating a major worldwide career. Yamashita places his amazing specialized skill on screen every single night (and occasionally gets criticized for doing this); Söllscher can be altogether even more reserved, allowing system to dominate only once he feels the music demands it, offering warm, full-toned renditions of such specifications as the Bach lute functions, instead of flamboyant Yamashita transcriptions. It isn’t surprising, then, how the world’s traditional guitarists and classical-guitar fans tend to take a seat on one aspect or the various other from the Yamashita-Söllscher fence so far as next-generation abilities are worried: their techniques are therefore radically not the same as one another that a lot of listeners end up unable to appreciate them either. Göwent Söllscher was created in Växjö in 1955, so that as a youngsters studied guitar on the Kalmar Municipal Music College. Later, he went to the conservatories in Malmö and Copenhagen, learning even while with guitarist Per Olof Johnson. In 1978, he earned the Concours Internationale de Guitare in Paris, and during the period of the 1980s, he conquered the worldwide recital circuit. In 1991, he was an integral participant in the much-touted worldwide festival honoring composer Joaquin Rodrigo (whose functions consist of many now-standard electric guitar parts), and shortly soon after he was appointed towards the faculty from the Malmö Conservatory. Söllscher continues to be energetic throughout his profession being a chamber musician; among the greater well-known collaborations can be a disk of Paganini’s music for violin and electric guitar made out of Gil Shaham.
