Geraldo Azevedo

Romantic lyricism arranged to virtuosic guitar playing has produced Geraldo Azevedo among the best pop musicians in Brazil. A lot of his compositions, including “Caravana,” “Copacabana,” “De Outra Maneira” and “Barcarola Perform Sao Francisco,” have grown to be Brazilian pop classics. Given birth to in Petrolina, a little town close to the banks from the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA River, Azevedo was intensely inspired by João Gilberto, who resided in Juazeiro, a town on the far side of the river. Azevedo achieved worldwide acclaim in 1991 when he teamed with Alçeuropean union Valença to compose and perform two tunes — “78 Rotaces” and “Planetario” — in a event sponsored by Tupi Television in Sao Paulo. Authorized by Casablanca, Azevedo and Valença released a self-titled duo recording. In 1972, both became a member of with folk vocalist Jackson Perform Pandeiro to execute at a global Song Event in Rio. Azevedo started to accomplish recognition by himself, as well. Many of his tunes were featured within the soundtrack from the Globo Television series Gabriela and Saramandaia. Azevedo’s debut single recording released in 1973 became a significant strike. In 1979, Azevedo and celebrity/vocalist Elba Ramalho documented Bicho de 7 Cabcas. Azevedo documented a live record within the Golden Area from the Casablanca in Rio in 1985.
