Frederick Knight

Frederick Knight’s catchy “I AM Lonely for SUCH A LONG TIME” was a big R&B strike on Stax in 1972, and he wrote and produced Anita Ward’s across-the-board smash “Band My Bell” in 1979. Knight slice his personal “I AM Lonely for SUCH A LONG TIME” in Birmingham, Alabama with a practiced southern soul team behind him, and strike once again in 1975 with “I Betcha Didn’t UNDERSTAND THAT.”
