Fathead could be the very best blues and root base rock rings to emerge from Canada since Ronnie Hawkins hired the future-Band to be his back-up group, The Hawks, in the mid-1950s. Fathead, offering Al Lerman (harp, saxophone, vocals), John Mays (business lead vocals), Teddy Leonard (electric guitar, vocals), Omar Tunnock (bass, vocals) and Ed Light (drums, vocals), has turned into a perennial presence on the Maple Blues honours. In 1998, the music group was nominated for six honours and received the prize as “Electric powered group of the entire year”. In 1999, Fathead was nominated in eight types.
