Eyvind Kang

Violist/violinist Eyvind Kang is from Seattle, where he studied music in Cornish University for the Arts furthermore to learning violin with Michael Light. In 1994, Kang received an Musician Support Program offer (from the Jack port Straw Basis) and utilized it to record the 1st seven of his group of musical compositions known as “NADEs.” 7 NADEs premiered within the Tzadik label in 1996, adopted two years later on by his Theatre of Nutrient Nades. Using constructions just like those of traditional music and conventions just like those in jazz, Kang pulls from a number of traditional and well-known designs. Kang also constructed music for the stage version of Charles Dickens’ Nicholas Nickleby, using a libretto with the Bobs’ Amy Engelhardt; it produced its premiere in-may of 2006. Kang’s The Small Garden, documented in Barcelona, highlighted over 30 music artists; it had been released by Ipecac in early 2012. In 2016 Kang collaborated with Asheville-via-Bhutan guitarist Tashi Dorji on Mom of most Saints, and with experimental vocalist and composer Jessika Kenney on Change Tree.
