Esther Apituley

Dutch violist Esther Apituley is a indigenous of Amsterdam. Apituley begun to research the violin at 12, but shortly transformed to the viola, attracted to its lower, throatier audio. She studied on the Sweelinck Conservatory in her hometown, where she shows and finished her span of research on the Hochschüle für Musik in Berlin. Since Apituley commenced her professional profession in 1990, and she’s long battled against the idea of the viola being a middle-range device that belongs to filling in the tranquility between violins and cellos. In the middle-’90s, Apituley founded several four violists originally beneath the name “Alt-viool-tild-Kwartett” (Generally Viola Period Quartet), but afterwards changed it towards the even more internationally comprehensible Amsterdam Viola Quartet. The group is becoming an established push in Dutch music, and with it Apituley offers expanded her achievements through composing her Kaduuk for four electrical violas and faucet dancer for the quartet and faucet dancer Peter Kuit. Apituley offers made an appearance on Dutch tv as sponsor of this program Reiziger im Muziek, and her Mikrokosmos Task, a multi-media event centered round the music of Béla Bartók continues to be broadcast over Dutch general public tv. In the live framework, Apituley is rolling out several effective touring applications, including her “Dance from the Viola,” and provides used them throughout European countries and Asia. In 2005, Apituley documented her single debut Compact disc, Violent Viola, which epitomizes her search for new strategies of appearance for the “previous violin.”
