Elmer Lee Thomas

b. 18 Dec 1946, Oakland, California, USA. Thomas noticed music from an early on age, travelling along with his mom who sang using the Gateway Performers, a folk group. (His mom’s name has been Elmerlee, which can take into account some references recommending that Thomas also sang with this group.) Through the 70s, he performed guitar with several groupings, playing blues, R&B, funk and fusions of the forms. In 1978 he retired in the professional stage and proved helpful in the air travel industry, meanwhile carrying on to try out privately. Through the early 80s he steadily shifted towards acoustic playing and by mid-decade, when he made a decision to go back to the music business, he previously become an achieved player from the classical guitar and was specifically adept with metal electric guitar. In 1991 he produced the Elmer Lee Thomas Blues Revue with guitarist London Phillips and bass participant Ken Webb. This is in the Bay Part of North California where in fact the group became extremely popular. The group’s second recording resulted in Thomas becoming recognized to Brownie McGhee with whom he shaped a personal a friendly relationship aswell as profiting from the experienced bluesman’s deep understanding of the blues. McGhee started dealing with the group and in-may 1995 they finished McGhee?s last recording program, later issued within the Last Great Blues Hero.
