Edison Denisov

Russian composer Edison Denisov (1929-1996) was perhaps one of the most essential figures among Soviet composers in the generation that followed Shostakovich. With Shostakovich’s encouragement, Denisov begun to reintroduce avant-garde designs in Russia through functions like The Sunlight from the Incas (1964) and Peinture (1970). Functioning inside the Soviet Composers Union, Denisov offered as a significant connection with the Western world so that as a conduit for information regarding Soviet performers. His Requiem (1980) and Haydn Variants (1982) are definitive masterworks of instant pre-Perestroika Russia. Denisov resided to start to see the end from the Soviet Union, but was suffering from sick wellness in his last years.
