Duo Due

Offering the multi-instrumental playing of brothers — Christian (1962- ) on piano, synthesizer and trombone, and Wolfgang Muthspiel (1965- ) on guit-synth, guitar and violin, Duo Due created a few of the most imaginative noises to emerge from behind the Eastern Bloc’s Iron Drape in the 1980s. Their studio room albums — Snow Dance in 1985, Duo Credited, and Concentrate It, made by Erich Dorfinger — reveal a mastery of digital structure, while their 4th and final, record, Tre, recorded reside in 1989, effectively translated their musical eyesight towards the concert stage. While Christian Muthspiel faded from the general public eye following duo’s disbanding, Wolfgang continued to be active being a musician. The alternative to Pat Metheny in vibraphonist Gary Burton’s quartet, from 1977 until 1980, he documented an record, Timezones, using the Wolfgang Muthspiel Trio and guests including Paul Motian, Dave Leibman, and Mick Goodrick. The sons of the choirleader father and a vocalist mother, the brothers researched classical piano simply because young people. Six years afterwards, in 1973, Christian turned to trombone, while Wolfgang exchanged the piano for violin and electric guitar. Students at the brand new Britain Conservatory of Music, and Berklee University of Music in Boston in 1986, Christian Muthspiel became a member of with his sibling to record Duo Due’s debut record a year later on.
