Don Pasquall

b. Jerome Don Pasquall, 20 Sept 1902, Fulton, Kentucky, USA, d. 18 Oct 1971. Pasquall grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, where he discovered to try out mellophone and proved helpful in brass rings. During military assistance in World Battle I, he turned to playing clarinet and after his go back to St. Louis he performed in several rings including those led by Charlie Creath and Destiny Marable. In 1921 he shifted to Chicago where he researched music and in addition performed regularly with observed local band market leaders including Doc Make. With Make’s music group he performed tenor saxophone; later in the 10 years he shifted to NY where he performed alto saxophone with Fletcher Henderson’s music group for a brief spell before time for Chicago. In the first 30s he performed in many rings, included in this those led by Freddie Keppard and Jabbo Smith. He also stopped at European countries in 1934, after that came back briefly to Henderson before settling into the Noble Sissle orchestra for quite some time. Through the mid-40s he freelanced in NY. Pasquall’s extensive research in Chicago produced him a trusted and sought-after musician. Furthermore to his playing of many reed devices, he also organized for many from the rings with which he performed.
