Cryptacize

Cryptacize’s elliptical, experimental indie pop isn’t everything cryptic, taking into consideration the participation of past Deerhoof guitarist Chris Cohen and playful vocalist/instrumentalist Nedelle Torrisi. The set 1st collaborated on Cohen’s Drapes task, with Torrisi chipping in vocals on 2006’s Calamity. Cohen and Torrisi uncovered percussionist Michael Carreira with a video of him playing cowbell on YouTube. After recruiting Carreira, the trio became Cryptacize, and started playing and documenting in 2007. Cryptacize agreed upon to Asthmatic Kitty and released their debut record, Drill down That Treasure, in early 2008. That summer months, after touring with Mirah, the Blow, Why?, Ponytail, and various other likeminded serves, Cryptacize retreated to a cabin near Yosemite Country wide Recreation area to record their second record, Mythomania, which highlighted fuller instrumentation and even more structured music than Drill down That Treasure acquired. The album found its way to spring 2009.
