Connie Haines

Often appearing up coming to Frank Sinatra while using the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra through the early ’40s, Connie Haines delivered some of Dorsey’s graph strikes and recorded on her behalf own through the ’50s and ’60s. Blessed Yvonne Marie Antoinette Ja Mais in Savannah in 1922, she discovered the artwork of vocals quite early; her mom was both a tone of voice and dance instructor. Surviving in Jacksonville after her parents divorced, she started airing over the air before the age group of ten. In 1931, she made an appearance over NBC radio as Baby Yvonne Marie, the tiny Princess from the Air flow, sang with Paul Whiteman’s Orchestra twelve months later on, and in 1934 received a vocal competition within the Fred Allen Display. Haines’ 1st big band agreement was with Howard Lally, though by age 16 she was performing with Harry Wayne’ music group (her 1st professional gig with Frank Sinatra). Financial complications forced Wayne to open fire both Sinatra and (later on) Haines, though both discovered use the same innovator: Tommy Dorsey. From 1940, Haines, Sinatra, as well as the later on addition from the Pied Pipers produced Dorsey’s among the most powerful rings from a pop standpoint, and Haines made an appearance on several strikes: “Two Dreams Met,” “Oh, Take a look at Me Right now,” “Kiss the Kids Goodbye,” and “WHAT’S This Thing Known as Like?” After departing Dorsey’s music group, Connie Haines sang using the Bob Crosby Orchestra during 1941. Like a single singer, she documented singles and LPs for a number of brands (Coral, Capitol, Mercury, Columbia, and Dot) through the following few years. She continued carrying out in to the ’90s, but passed on in 2008 from the neuromuscular disease myasthenia gravis .
