Charmer

Charmer, a Baton Rouge, LA-based folk group, was shaped with the Smith brothers — multi-instrumentalists Bob (bass, percussion, vocals), Dudley Brian (vocals, electric guitar, harmonica, mandolin), and Joel (vocals, electric guitar) — in 1973. They performed in little venues through the entire Southern U.S. throughout their whole lifetime, but didn’t start launching albums until 1981. In 1983, the addition of Jan Smith (electric guitar, piano, vocals, accordion, melodica) produced the group a quartet — by enough time the people decided to perform new factors, in 1989, that they had constructed a catalog of eight albums and got several support shows under their belts, for famous brands Nanci Griffith, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Music group, John Fahey, and John Prine. Dudley Brian and Jan shaped Smithfield Good, and Bob and Joel shaped Diverse Peoples.
