Based from the musically fortified NJ town of Newark, Butchers of Sky Valley focus on an evocative and hard-hitting mixture of blues-tempered indie/stoner rock and roll and juke joint Americana that invokes titles like Queens from the Rock Age group, Led Zeppelin, Black color Rebel Motorcycle Golf club, early ZZ Best, Morphine, and Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac. Shaped in 2007 by vocalist/songwriter Mike Mokotow and guitarist John Cosenza, the music group took their period honing their audio before finalizing a lineup (Mokotow, Cosenza, Tim Brummer, Jeff Knaster, and Davis Rowan) and liberating their eponymous debut record in 2013.
