Burt Bales

Overshadowed over time by his contemporary, Wally Rose, Burt Bales was a talented stride and ragtime pianist in his have right. He began playing piano when he was 12 and proved helpful in California within the 1930s in a variety of resort and dance rings. Bales became area of the 1940s SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA jazz motion when he began using Lu Watters’ Yerba Buena Jazz Music group, but he was shortly drafted (1943) rather than officially recorded using the group (apart from a session where they were became a member of by Bunk Johnson).
