Bryan Spring

b. 24 August 1945, London, Britain. Spring was among a small number of youthful drummers (others included Bobby Orr and Phil Seamen) who surfaced in the 50s to provide the lie towards the cliché ‘British rhythm areas don’t golf swing’. Originally self-taught because the age group of six, Planting season also examined with Philly Joe Jones. After freelancing through the first 60s, he started a fruitful cooperation with Stan Tracey, playing and documenting using the pianist’s rings for eight years. In the past due 60s and early 70s Springtime used Frank Ricotti and Klaus Doldinger’s music group, Passport, aswell as spending almost a year using the group Nucleus. In 1975 the drummer produced his own music group, co-led by saxophonist Don Weller, a link that lasted in to the 80s.
