Brian Trainor

A melodic pianist/composer who was simply given birth to and raised in Trenton, NJ, Brian Trainor has loved both jazz and classical since youth. Trainor’s curiosity about music was significantly inspired by his dad, Francis Trainor, Sr., a vocalist who acquired a “time gig” being a meats cutter and noticed to it that his kid was studying traditional piano as soon as kindergarten. Trainor (whose affects range from Costs Evans to Thelonious Monk and Bud Powell) was still a kid when he researched jazz piano with Trenton pianist Alan Bosley, and he also got many interactions about jazz along with his his good friend and neighbor, alto saxman Richie Cole. It had been Cole who released Trainor to some other alto great, Phil Woods, with whom the pianist began monitoring at age 13.
