Bobby Jones

A figure best-known for his association with Charles Mingus in the first ’70s, Bobby Jones was a talented tenor saxophonist using a flexible style. He battled within the musical minimal leagues for a long period, using the Glenn Miller ghost music group (1959), several a few months with Woody Herman (1963), as well as for some time, clarinet with Jack port Teagarden. Jones performed well with Mingus (1970-1972) and documented albums being a head for Cobblestone (1972) and Enja (1974), doubling on tenor and clarinet for the last mentioned. He resolved in Munich, but his emphysema compelled him to avoid playing and focus on arranging before reducing short his lifestyle.
